After two and a half days walking across a moonscape covered in flies we've reached the top of Askja. (1250m) Spectacular views. Sunshine. Pretty epic. Hopefully swim in a warm caldera later and then on to Dreki campsite to pick up food parcel for next 8 days.

Had second covid test, we still don't have it

3 glorious days of awesome scenery; gorges, canyons, waterfalls, lava fields, volcanoes, open plains, distant snow capped peaks.

Today was a half day, had to rent a car and drive to Akureyri for our second Covid test.

Survived the first three days to Asbyrgi, weather has been kind (touch wood), scenery so far reminiscent of Scottish highlands, now heading into some proper Icelandic stuff, towards Lake Myvatn.
